Just Another Vietnam Sunset

Hardly. It was one of those sublime moments that will linger in the memory. A snapshot to be stored with many other memorable moments. This is why we travel.

Sitting with my wife in a small wooden boat on a sunset cruise around Ninh Van Bay, Vietnam. A glass of Champagne, the boat slowly navigating over the glassy, still water, while all around us — nothing — except the tree-covered hills stretching like a blanket down to the waterline. An orgasm of adjectives in that last sentence? Sorry, it was that kind of experience.

We stayed at the stunning An Lam Villas — I’d highly recommend it, but please, leave the kids at home, they really wouldn’t appreciate it, and we really don’t appreciate them.
